Edinburgh Law School’s LLB is designed to prepare students for a legal career in Scotland and is aligned with the requirements of the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates. The curriculum is grounded in Scots law and the Scottish legal system while introducing the law and legal systems of the rest of the UK, the EU, and the wider world. Years 1–2 cover foundational ‘Ordinary’ courses; Years 3–4 (Honours) emphasize analytical ability, written and oral advocacy, and offer up to 40 specialist options, including mooting opportunities and skills development. Studying in Edinburgh places students within walking distance of Scotland’s highest courts and key legal institutions, with benefits including a strong legal library and peer-assisted learning via LawPALS.
