The Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Biomedical Engineering at UBC is a research-based graduate program that offers training in the core areas of biomedical engineering, combining engineering, life sciences, and medicine. Students complete at least 30 credits of graduate-level courses, including a major research thesis (12 credits), under faculty supervision. The program equips graduates for careers in research and development, industry, healthcare, or further PhD study. Research clusters include cellular and molecular engineering, imaging and computational biology, human interfacing devices, biomaterials, biomechanics, and other interdisciplinary biomedical applications.
