The Dual Degree pathway at the University of British Columbia's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) enables students to pursue both the Master of Architecture (MArch) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) concurrently within a rigorous four-year program. This unique dual degree, the first of its kind in Canada, is professionally accredited by both the Canadian Architectural Certification Board and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects. The curriculum integrates architectural and ecological design, allowing graduates to qualify for licensure in both fields. Coursework emphasizes design studios, ecological consciousness, planning, history and theory of architecture and landscape, as well as interdisciplinary and elective opportunities. Graduates are prepared for careers in architecture, landscape architecture, urban and ecological design, and related disciplines.
