The Dual MAS/MLIS at UBC is a full-time, interdisciplinary master's program allowing students to earn both a Master of Archival Studies (MAS) and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) within an accelerated timeframe. The program trains graduates to excel in hybrid library/archives/records management environments and cultural institutions, offering American Library Association (ALA) accreditation for the MLIS degree. Curriculum includes hands-on professional experience, project work, and optional paid co-op terms, with opportunity for specialization, including First Nations/Indigenous knowledge stewardship, Blockchain & AI for records, information design, analysis, community archives, managing records from creation to preservation, digital resource management, and legal/ethical responsibilities.
