The Master of Global Health (MGH) at UBC's School of Population and Public Health is a 20-month interdisciplinary professional graduate program designed to prepare students with knowledge, business skills, and practical experience to address contemporary global health challenges. The curriculum integrates thematic pillars including global health ethics (with a focus on inequities, colonialism, and marginalized populations), global health policy (emphasizing governmental and organizational coordination), and global environmental health (focused on environmental drivers of health inequities and related interventions). The program is delivered via a flexible multi-access format (in-person and online), and includes a cornerstone 3-month practicum with options for domestic or international placements. Students develop skills in business communication, systems thinking, cultural sensitivity, networking, and stakeholder engagement, and can draw on elective courses from across UBC. The target cohort consists of early to mid-career professionals from health-related, environmental, social science, natural/applied sciences, and relevant interdisciplinary backgrounds.
