The Master of Health Science (MHSc) at UBC's School of Population and Public Health is a professional graduate degree designed to provide strong training in clinical research methodology. The program is aimed at students with a medical doctorate or equivalent background (e.g., dentistry or veterinary medicine) and provides skills in epidemiological and statistical methods, clinical research design, systematic reviews, clinical trials, and data analysis. The curriculum includes opportunities to explore program and economic evaluation, population health, and health policy through electives. The program is flexible, can be completed part-time, and is the only formal clinical research methodology program for MDs (and equivalents) in British Columbia. A 30-credit program, it prepares graduates for clinical, academic, and research-intensive careers in health science.
