The BSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences at UBC's Okanagan campus, under the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science, provides multi-disciplinary training on the natural processes shaping Earth and its environments, as well as human influences. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects from mineral and water resources to climate, hydrology, land management, and geochemistry. The program emphasizes experimentation, observation, data collection, laboratory skills, and spatial data analysis. Students may choose to focus on major, honours, or minor tracks, can participate in co-op work placements, and have the opportunity to tailor their studies to meet professional licensure requirements (e.g. Professional Geoscientist, Professional Agrologist). Career paths include roles in hydrology, hydrogeology, geological/environmental consulting, and the resource sector. The honours track incorporates a research thesis and maintains high academic standards.
