The Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Health (BSc FNH) at UBC’s Faculty of Land and Food Systems provides a comprehensive education in the science and practice of food, nutrition, and health. The curriculum spans the full continuum from food production and processing to human nutrition, food marketing, consumption, and the impact on individual and community health. Students choose from several majors—including Food, Nutrition and Health, Dietetics (which is accredited for professional dietitian practice), Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, and double majors—allowing for customization based on career goals. The program integrates laboratory, hands-on, and experiential learning, giving students opportunities to work in UBC’s culinary labs, community engagement, and co-op placements. Graduates can pursue careers in food service management, industry, lab-based roles, nutrition education, health promotion, and more, or continue to medical or graduate studies.
