The Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering at UBC’s School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) is a 4-year undergraduate program located at the Vancouver campus. The curriculum combines engineering, biology, mathematics, chemistry, and design, with early specialization streams available from the third year: Biomechanics and Biomaterials, Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering, Biomedical Systems and Signals, and Biomedical Informatics. Students engage in hands-on laboratory, studio, and design work and may participate in co-op education. The program provides a strong foundation in biology, human anatomy, and physiology, preparing students to solve engineering problems in health care.
