The Bachelor of Music (Music Education) at the UBC School of Music offers students robust training to become music educators. This program combines core music curriculum—including theory, aural skills, music history, ensemble performance, and music technology—with specialized coursework in education. Students study their main instrument or voice throughout the four years via private lessons and performance opportunities. Majoring in music education prepares graduates to teach at the elementary or secondary school level. Students can pursue a single BMus major in Music Education, or a dual degree in Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education (BEd) to receive direct teaching credentials.
