The Master of Emergency Medicine (MEmMed) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya is a four-year clinical coursework programme designed to provide specialist training for future Emergency Physicians. Initiated in 2005 and supported by the Ministry of Health, the program targets Malaysian and international doctors seeking advanced skills in pre-hospital, disaster, emergency, and intensive care. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on clinical training, academic excellence, leadership, and research—preparing graduates to manage acute medical conditions across various emergency scenarios. Trainees keep a logbook for practical documentation, go through a structured progression of competence, and develop the skills, judgment, and values required for modern emergency medicine practice.
