The Bachelor of Economics programme at the University of Malaya is designed to deliver strong theoretical and applied economic knowledge, along with the development of critical and analytical skills. The curriculum combines a solid core in economics and quantitative methods with the flexibility to specialise in one of five areas: Applied Economics, Financial Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, or Applied Statistics and Analytics. Students must complete 126 credits, including core courses, faculty electives, and at least seven courses in their chosen specialisation. The goal is to produce graduates with a broad and specialized economic perspective, able to apply knowledge to policy, management, and research. The medium of instruction is English, and the assessment is split equally between continuous assessment and final examination.
