The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Society at Nanyang Technological University’s College of Computing and Data Science is a pioneering, interdisciplinary undergraduate programme. It combines a solid technical foundation in AI with practical skills for designing, developing, and deploying responsible AI systems. Emphasis is placed on the societal impacts of AI, including ethics, risk management, and sustainable development. The programme includes hands-on experience through group design projects, a 20-week industry internship, and a Responsible AI (RAI) capstone project. Students can broaden their horizons with electives from humanities, arts, business, and social sciences, preparing them for emerging roles such as Responsible AI Strategist, AI Policy Advisor, and AI Ethics Compliance Officer. The curriculum is designed to equip graduates for both traditional AI engineering positions and novel interdisciplinary roles focusing on ethical and societal dimensions of AI.
