The Bachelor of Science in Informatics with the Health & Well-Being Option at the University of Washington’s Information School (iSchool) is a capacity-constrained undergraduate major. The program focuses on the study, design, and development of information technology that enhances human health and well-being. Students learn how data, systems, and human values intersect in personal and societal health contexts, with courses exploring human-centered design for health and wellness technologies, population health informatics, data visualization, and information management. The curriculum prepares graduates to address global health challenges via the creative and ethical application of information technologies. The Health & Well-Being option is one of several focus areas students can select within the Informatics major, leveraging interdisciplinary coursework from technology, health, sociology, and design.
