The USC Marshall School of Business's MMLIS program is an accredited, fully online master's program designed to educate future library and information professionals for leadership roles. The curriculum uniquely integrates core library and information science competencies—aligned with the American Library Association's 14 major competencies—with business, management, and communication fundamentals. Courses emphasize real-world, experience-based learning and include a major capstone project. The program consists of 40 units: 28 foundation units, 9 elective units, and a 3-unit capstone project. Students are grouped into small cohorts, progressing together to foster collaboration and peer learning. Faculty include experts from the Marshall School of Business, USC Libraries, other USC schools, and information science practitioners. Graduates are prepared for advanced leadership positions in academic, corporate, and urban libraries, and information management organizations.
