USC Viterbi School of Engineering's Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Electric Power) is designed for students pursuing careers in the electric power industry. The curriculum blends traditional study of power systems (generation, transmission, distribution) with advanced topics like renewable energy integration and smart grid technologies. The program prepares graduates for rapidly changing industry needs and offers both on-campus and online delivery via DEN@Viterbi, with the same requirements and degree issued. Students must complete 28 units; a thesis or directed research is optionally available after the first semester. The program is eligible for OPT STEM extension for international students.
