The LLM in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity at USC Gould School of Law is a full-time, on-campus graduate program designed for domestic and international students who have already earned a law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent). The program emphasizes both the legal and practical challenges facing business and individual data protection, with required coursework in privacy and cybersecurity law in the US. Students can explore common legal issues, emerging laws, and risk mitigation strategies, preparing them for careers such as Chief Privacy Counsel, Data Privacy Officer, or Corporate Counsel. The degree requires 24 units over two semesters (fall or spring start), with at least 12 units from core courses related to privacy and cybersecurity. The rest can be completed through upper-division law electives or bar exam preparation courses. Students may also opt for a certificate in areas such as Business Law or Technology and Entrepreneurship Law concurrent with their degree. The USC Gould alumni network and career services are available to all enrolled students.
