The Master of Comparative Law (MCL) at USC Gould School of Law is a full-time, on-campus program designed for international students who have already earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from a U.S. law school. The program provides a comprehensive study of the differences, similarities, and relationships among various legal systems worldwide. MCL students deepen their understanding of comparative and U.S. law through both required and elective coursework, attend classes with LLM and JD students, and receive tailored academic and bar exam advisement. The curriculum includes a required comparative law course and a Directed Research writing requirement. Upon graduation, students are well prepared for leadership roles in the global legal profession.
