USC's Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering emphasis prepares students to analyze and design structures such as buildings, bridges, and dams. The curriculum focuses on core civil engineering principles, advanced analysis of materials (steel, concrete, composites), and the response of structures to various loads. Students must complete rigorous coursework in mathematics, physics, and engineering science, with specific requirements including a minimum grade of C in key courses (CE 215, CE 225, CE 309). Graduates are equipped for careers or graduate study in structural engineering and related fields. The program is administered by the Sonny Astani Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and requires approval for transfer credits as well as a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in major courses.
