The Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts at the USC School of Dramatic Arts is a broad-based degree that integrates a liberal arts curriculum with comprehensive study in the dramatic arts. Offered with the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, the program allows for flexibility to tailor coursework to students’ interests and career goals, including the choice of emphasis in Acting, Comedy, Design, or Musical Theatre after the first year. The curriculum combines a grounding in all areas of dramatic arts—ranging from performance and playwriting to theatrical design and entrepreneurialism in the arts—while maintaining opportunities for performance and production by audition. Students can readily pursue double majors or minors and participate in study-abroad options. The program also requires completion of USC’s General Education requirements and a foreign language requirement. Total degree completion requires 128 units (typically over 4 years).
