The BS in Economics and Data Science at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is a 60-unit interdisciplinary undergraduate program designed to blend core economics instruction with rigorous training in data science, computer science, and mathematics. The program equips students to apply advanced data science techniques to the analysis and formulation of economic problems. Graduates are prepared to bridge the divide between technical data analytics ('Big Data' engineers) and applied decision-making across a range of industries, including research, consulting, government, finance, and public policy. Students build expertise in economic theory, statistical analysis, econometrics, as well as practical programming and data management. Academic opportunities include research through the USC Economics Review, honor societies like Omicron Delta Epsilon, and global study programs.
