The Master of Science (Applied) in Physical Therapy is a professional, course-based graduate program aimed at developing autonomous, competent, and evidence-driven physical therapists. The program is completed over 1.5 years (five semesters) and includes 1,050 clinical hours distributed over four practicums. The curriculum is centered on client-focused and evidence-based care, covering the full health care continuum and embracing health promotion, rehabilitation, and prevention. The program also includes a master’s research project in the final semester to foster professional autonomy, research literacy, and scholarly appreciation of rehabilitation. Graduates are eligible for professional licensure to practice physical therapy in Canada. Entry is possible either after the BSc in Rehabilitation Science (PT) at McGill or following a mandatory Qualifying Year for those without a PT background.
