The Master of Science in School Counseling at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education is a 60-credit program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The curriculum is designed to prepare counselors to address the academic, social-emotional, career, and developmental needs of diverse student populations in K-12 settings. The program offers flexible entry (any semester), part-time and full-time options, and includes required practicum and two internships, which can be completed in elementary, middle, or secondary schools. Graduates are eligible for both Initial and Professional Certifications in School Counseling for New York State, recognized across many other U.S. states. Students can also utilize electives to earn advanced certificates or take coursework toward additional professional credentials, such as behavior analysis.
