The MSW program at the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences prepares students for advanced social work practice and leadership. All students gain skills to work with individuals, families, and communities, advocating for social change. Two specializations are offered: Clinical Practice (focus on work with children, adults, groups, families in clinical settings) and Leadership Practice (focus on policy advocacy, organizational and program development, and community leadership). The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, is offered full-time or part-time in Iowa City, Des Moines, and online, and can be started according to background (Regular or Advanced Standing).
