The MA in School Counseling at the University of Iowa's College of Education is a CACREP-accredited graduate program designed to train students to become professional school counselors in K-12 settings. The program is cohort-based, with evening classes tailored to working professionals, and emphasizes culturally responsive, data-driven practices and comprehensive service delivery. All students participate in practicum and internship experiences within vetted local K-12 schools. Upon graduation, candidates are eligible for an Iowa K-12 school counselor license, benefiting from a 100% job placement rate.
