The Master of Science in Biology at Boston University’s College of Arts & Sciences is a flexible, research-focused graduate program with three tracks: a coursework track (typically 1 year), a scholarly paper track (about 1.5 years), and a research thesis track (commonly 2 years). Students specialize in one of three broad areas: cellular and molecular biology, neurobiology, or ecology, behavior, evolution, and marine biology. Graduates are prepared for advanced graduate training or employment in academia, industry, government, or nonprofit sectors. Students are assigned faculty advisors in their subfield, and must complete both core and elective coursework as determined by their focus area and track. There is no foreign language requirement.
