The Master of Education (EdM) in Early Childhood Education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development is designed for students aspiring to become educators for children aged 3–8. The program builds expertise in designing and implementing inclusive and engaging curriculums, supporting children's social-emotional development, and affirming diverse cultural and linguistic identities. Students can choose from four degree pathways and may seek licensure for Massachusetts (PreK–2). Flexible formats allow for full- or part-time study, with coursework offered in the evenings. The program incorporates field-based experiences, including at least one semester of student teaching with mentorship. BU Wheelock's faculty are experienced educators and researchers in areas such as multilingual learners, STEM, arts-based education, anti-bias curriculum, and special needs. Career outcomes include roles as public/private school teachers, museum educators, curriculum leaders, and educational services providers.
