Karolinska Institutet's Department of Dental Medicine offers a 3.5-year full-time master's and clinical specialisation programme in Orthodontics. The programme is intended for participants with a University Degree in Dental Surgery and at least two years of full-time clinical experience in general practice. The training is NEBEOP-certified, combines advanced theoretical coursework, extensive clinical work with patients, and research experience culminating in a master's thesis expected to be publishable internationally. Completion confers both a certificate of specialisation and a Degree of Master of Medical Science (120 ECTS credits) with a Major in Odontology. Only Orthodontics is offered as an English-taught specialist certificate and master's programme in 2025; Swedish licensure and other specialist areas may require proficiency in Swedish and are only available through separate programmes.
