The Master's Programme in Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institutet (Department of Global Public Health) is a 2-year, full-time programme starting in late August 2025. The programme offers two specialisations: Public Health Epidemiology and Health Promotion and Prevention. Students develop scientific approaches and gain a thorough theoretical foundation in public health sciences, advanced epidemiology, biostatistics, and methods for evaluating interventions. The curriculum covers concepts and theories in public health, qualitative research methods, project management, and outcome evaluation. The Health Promotion and Prevention track focuses on planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating health interventions at both individual and structural levels. The Epidemiology track emphasises applied epidemiology and critical review of public health studies, preparing graduates to describe and analyse a variety of public health issues.
