The Master's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet provides advanced, in-depth knowledge within the rapidly expanding biomedical field. The program is research oriented, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of diseases, especially widespread illnesses, with the objective of developing advanced diagnostic and treatment methods. Students gain essential practical experience, communication skills, and participate directly in academic research. The curriculum begins with advanced biomedical base courses built upon undergraduate studies and progresses to individualized study plans via elective courses and independent research projects. The program runs in close association with Karolinska Institutet's elite research environment, and is designed to prepare students for academic or research-oriented careers, as well as further doctoral study. The Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB) is responsible for key parts of the teaching, especially research project courses.
