The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Public Health in Disasters (EMJMDPHID) is a multidisciplinary, two-year program jointly delivered by Karolinska Institutet (Department of Global Public Health, Solna), Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), and University of Nicosia (Cyprus). The program focuses on risk factors and impacts of disasters, reducing risks, preparedness, response, and recovery, from a public health perspective. It equips students with theoretical and practical skills needed to assess, plan, and manage disaster responses and improve population health outcomes in crisis settings. Students divide their study time among the three universities, gaining global perspectives and hands-on experience from leading experts in public health and disaster management. The program is conducted in English and attracts a global cohort of students, enabling international networking and diverse perspectives.
