The Bachelor’s Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an international undergraduate program taught in English. It provides broad knowledge of human biology and pathology and an understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, infections, and notably, neurological diseases. The curriculum includes courses in general natural sciences and biomedical disciplines, including substantial neuroscience content. Students are introduced to laboratory practices and scientific methods, with clinical neuroscience, anatomy, and histology covered by the Department of Neuroscience and closely integrated into the medical and biomedicine programs. The final semester includes a degree project, enabling students to choose a specific subject area—such as neuroscience—and work either within academia or industry. The program prepares graduates for master's studies and careers in research, clinical trials, and life science sectors.
