The Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an internationally oriented programme taught in English. It provides students with broad knowledge of biology and pathology of the human body, emphasizing the molecular mechanisms underlying major global diseases. The curriculum combines natural sciences and medical courses, with training in laboratory techniques, scientific methods, and exposure to research environments. During the three years, students undertake foundational courses in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, statistics, immunology, and more. The final semester features a degree project, which can be conducted in Sweden or abroad at academic or pharmaceutical organizations. Graduates are prepared for further master’s studies or careers in biomedicine, research, pharmaceutical industry, and related fields.
