The Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet (KI) is a three-year, full-time program taught in English and delivered at Solna Campus, Stockholm. The curriculum blends courses in general natural sciences (biology, chemistry, biochemistry) with medically oriented courses that introduce students to the molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases, laboratory practices, and scientific methodology. The active research environment provides close contact with international biomedical research, especially at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, which is responsible for key courses like Introduction to Biomedical Science, General and Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Biology. The final semester concludes with a degree project that can be completed in Sweden or abroad at academic or industry settings. Graduates gain deep knowledge of biomedical research and its clinical applications, preparing them for careers in research, industry, clinical trials, or continued studies at the master’s level in Biomedicine, Bioentrepreneurship, or Toxicology.
