The Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an international undergraduate programme taught in English. Students acquire a broad knowledge of the biology and pathology of the human body and the molecular mechanisms underlying global diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, infectious, and neurological diseases. The programme combines general natural sciences with medically oriented courses, practical laboratory work, and early research exposure. In the final semester, students complete a degree project, which can be undertaken at an academic institution or a pharmaceutical company in Sweden or abroad. Courses are taught in close connection with departments such as the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery, which actively contributes with teaching and supervision.
