The Bachelor’s Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an international program taught in English, offering a broad education in the biology and pathology of the human body. It provides students with a strong foundation in the molecular mechanisms underlying major global diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, infectious, and neurological diseases. The curriculum spans general natural sciences to advanced medical courses, including a core third-semester course in neuroscience. Students are trained in laboratory and research methods with the opportunity to undertake an individual research project for their degree. The program is deeply connected with Karolinska's world-leading medical research environment, supporting progression to master's and doctoral studies. Note: Karolinska does not offer a standalone Bachelor's of Medicine (MBBS/医学本科学位) in English, nor any undergraduate clinical medicine taught in English. The Biomedicine degree is the only English-taught undergraduate program and is distinct from a clinical medical qualification.
