The Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an international program taught entirely in English. Students gain a comprehensive foundation in the biology and pathology of the human body as well as an understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying major global diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infections, and neurological diseases. The curriculum includes both general natural sciences and medically oriented courses, extensive laboratory training, and scientific methods. Teaching is research-driven, providing close contact with ongoing biomedical research, and students are encouraged to participate in exchanges with international partner universities. The final semester involves a degree project at an academic institution or pharmaceutical company.
