The Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet is an international undergraduate degree taught in English, leading to the degree Bachelor of Medical Science with a Major in Biomedicine. The programme covers the biology and pathology of the human body and the molecular mechanisms involved in major global diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular, infectious, and neurological diseases. The curriculum combines general natural sciences with medically oriented courses and practical training in laboratory and scientific methods. Students are encouraged to participate in exchange studies at international partner universities. The final semester consists of a research-based degree project in a chosen area, which can be fulfilled either in Sweden or abroad at academic institutions or within the biopharma industry. Graduates have a solid foundation for pursuing Master's studies or careers in research, pharmaceutical industry, management, clinical trials, or healthcare media.
