The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) is an ABET-accredited program designed to provide students with a broad knowledge of physical and engineering sciences and their applications to biological and medical problems. The curriculum includes foundational coursework in physics, chemistry, mathematics, modern biology, and engineering fundamentals in the first two years. The last two years focus on biomedical engineering topics such as physiology, quantitative analysis, and experimental measurements. Students have the flexibility to choose technical electives within and outside biomedical engineering to tailor the program to their interests, preparing them for careers and advanced study in all contemporary areas of biomedical engineering.
