The MS in Cancer Biology and Translational Oncology (4+1) at Emory University's Laney Graduate School is a specialized graduate program designed for current Emory undergraduate students. The program trains students in the fundamentals of cancer biology and translational oncology, including molecular and cellular biology, genetics and epigenetics, immunotherapy, signal transduction, genetic engineering, and applications of novel technologies. Students will engage in rigorous coursework (38 graduate credits: 20 required course credits and 18 laboratory research credits), participate in advanced seminars and journal clubs, and conduct hypothesis-driven research using state-of-the-art techniques. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for diverse careers in medical and academic research, translational research, clinical oncology, teaching, government health agencies, science policy, and related fields. The program emphasizes both theoretical competence and practical laboratory experience, targeting the development of future cancer scientists and oncologists.
