The Master of Theological Studies/Master of Public Health (MTS/MPH) dual degree, jointly offered by Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and Rollins School of Public Health, enables students to earn both degrees in three years—one year less than if pursued separately. The program integrates theological education with professional public health training, preparing graduates to understand and address health from religious, spiritual, communal, and public policy perspectives. Students spend the first year at Candler, the second year at Rollins, and the third year at Candler. The curriculum leverages courses from both schools and allows students to undertake integrative thesis/project work connecting public health and theology. Students can specialize their MPH in areas such as Behavioral, Social and Health Education Sciences, Epidemiology, Global Environmental Health, Global Epidemiology, and Health Policy & Management. Candidates must apply and be admitted to both Candler and Rollins through their independent processes. All degrees require at least 51 credit hours at Candler and a minimum of 32 credit hours at Rollins, including practicum experiences. Candler financial aid applies during Candler semesters only.
