The MADE program is an intensive, 11-month full-time joint master’s degree between Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), designed to merge design creativity and engineering innovation for impact across diverse fields. It emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, iterative making, and collaboration, with coursework delivered through a series of studio-based projects, electives from both institutions, and access to their combined resources. Cohorts are intentionally small (~20 students) to promote mentorship and individualized growth. Graduates are prepared for careers as art directors, creative technologists, design engineers, UX/product designers, and roles in health tech, consumer goods, research, and entrepreneurship.
