Brown University School of Engineering offers both undergraduate (Sc.B.) and graduate (MADE, M.A.) degrees in Design Engineering. The undergraduate design engineering concentration, established in 2023, fuses engineering, data science, graphic design, and humanities, encouraging students to apply engineering principles to diverse interests via a flexible, open curriculum. The MADE (Master of Arts in Design Engineering), jointly offered by Brown and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), is an intensive 11-month full-time graduate program focusing on interdisciplinary, project-based learning at the intersection of design and engineering.
