The Data-Enabled Computational Engineering and Science Sc.M. program at Brown University's School of Engineering is designed for students seeking advanced skills in modeling, simulation, and data-driven engineering and physical science applications. The program combines rigorous coursework in computational engineering (including nonlinear finite element analysis and integration of physics-based modeling with data science) and high-performance computing with applied mathematics and engineering electives, taught by faculty renowned in solid mechanics, materials science, fluid and thermal systems, and machine learning. Students choose from three tracks: Thesis, Non-Thesis, and Professional (internship). Graduates are prepared for careers in industry, national laboratories, or further doctoral studies, equipped to carry out practical engineering-scale simulations with cutting-edge data science and machine learning expertise.
