Brown University's Combined Bachelor of Arts–Bachelor of Science (A.B.–Sc.B.) program allows undergraduates to pursue in-depth study in both the arts/social sciences and sciences/mathematics, earning a single, combined degree. Students must complete the full requirements of a standard concentration in the life sciences, physical sciences, or mathematics (Sc.B.) concurrently with a standard or independent concentration in the humanities or social sciences (A.B.). The program is designed for students seeking breadth and depth across disciplines, beyond the standard single or double concentration. A minimum of 38 courses is required, and the program spans 10 semesters of enrollment (with a 9-semester option for some cases if approved). Students must declare intent by their fifth semester and receive approval from Brown's dean and the Committee on Academic Standing if petitioning late. The combined program enables deeper exploration of Brown's Open Curriculum and extends financial aid eligibility, but adds a fifth year to undergraduate study and associated costs.
