Personal Statement:
Autobiographical Essay/Personal Statement (1,000 words maximum)—Your autobiographical essay/personal statement is a narrative that outlines significant experiences in your life, including childhood experiences, study, and work; your strengths and aspirations in the field of architecture; and why you want to come to the University of Oregon.
Recommendation Letter:
Three Recommendations (Two from academic sources is preferred)—Recommenders will automatically receive an e-mail inviting them to login and complete the reference requirement through the SlideRoom application. You may submit your SlideRoom application even if your recommendations have not been received.
Portfolio:
Portfolio—Applicants should include projects or other independent work that demonstrates a potential for visual and spatial thinking and an environmental awareness. A photographic essay, observations, and analysis of a place, travel sketches, fine arts, or craft studies are some of the possibilities. If group work is included, clearly explain the nature and extent of your contribution. Track II applicants should provide samples of their design work.
The applicant should use the portfolio as a visual complement to the autobiographical essay. The minimum number of upload slots is 1 and the maximum number of upload slots is 10.
