The Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) School of Business, A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, is an interdisciplinary degree designed to prepare students for a career as an actuary. This program applies the mathematics of probability and statistics to analyze, define, and solve the financial implications of uncertain future events, particularly in the areas of finance and insurance. The curriculum integrates mathematics, statistics, finance, and economics, preparing students for professional actuarial exams and careers in risk analysis, insurance, consulting, investment analysis, and related fields. Actuarial Science at UCR is the only such undergraduate degree offered in the University of California system and is recognized by the Society of Actuaries for VEE (Validation by Educational Experience) in topics such as Accounting & Finance, Economics, and Mathematical Statistics. Courses also prepare students for key actuarial exams (FM, IFM, P). Students benefit from active business school resources and participation in business clubs and associations.
