The Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Analysis at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Pharmacy is a research-based, thesis-oriented program. It aims to train future researchers in pharmaceutical analysis, focusing on the methods and techniques used to analyze drugs and related compounds. The program combines substantial research work under the supervision of a faculty member with required coursework in advanced analytical and pharmaceutical topics. Students develop expertise in designing, executing, and interpreting complex analytical methods relevant to pharmaceutical research projects. Six concentrations are offered in the program, including pharmaceutical analysis, medicinal chemistry, medications and population health, pharmacogenomics, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical technology. Most credits are attributed to the research project and thesis, while a portion are allocated to coursework. The program is principally offered in French, but some research communications and thesis work may be done in English. Graduates are prepared for further doctoral studies or research positions in the pharmaceutical industry, government, or academia.
