This research-oriented, interdisciplinary Master's program at the School of Natural Sciences, Technical University of Munich (TUM), focuses on applying advances in natural and engineering sciences to the development of new methods for prevention, diagnosis, and therapy in medicine and life sciences. The curriculum covers imaging modalities (such as microscopy and medical imaging), biosensor technology, biomedical data analysis with artificial intelligence, therapeutic innovations, radiotherapy support technologies, and biomechanics. The first year is structured in a foundational phase with specialized and interdisciplinary electives, while the second year centers on research projects, practical training, and a Master's thesis. Students are prepared for careers in research, medical technology industries, and related public sector fields, benefiting from TUM’s collaboration with the Munich Institute of Biomedical Engineering (MIBE) and a vibrant, research-intensive environment.
