The MAT/MST programs at Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, Boston College, are designed for students who have completed a liberal arts or sciences undergraduate major and wish to prepare for initial secondary school teaching licensure, as well as for experienced secondary teachers seeking professional licensure or additional expertise. Programs require more coursework in Arts & Sciences than the comparable M.Ed. degree and are coordinated between the relevant Arts & Sciences department and the Lynch School of Education and Human Development. Disciplines available include English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, and History. The programs consist of both in-depth subject preparation and pedagogical training.
